Breaking The Fast

After the overnight fasting

period it is important for

athletes to replace and replenish

glucose and other vital nutrients.

Nothing kick starts your

metabolism like breakfast.

But eating in the morning has other added benefits-

such as maintaining energy levels, improving concentration, bettering your mood, as well as increasing strength & endurance.

Strawberry Protein Shake

½ cup unsweetened milk of choice

½ cup Skyr yogurt

1 scoop vanilla protein powder

1 tsp raw honey or maple syrup

¾ cup frozen strawberries 

3-6 ice cubes

Mix in blender.

Why do swimmers need breakfast?

Because eating breakfast replenishes blood sugar levels which can be lost during sleep, provide proper energy necessary for training, and maximize muscle performance. More importantly nutrition aids in post-workout/post-meet recovery.
